The Beautiful Life of Isabel and Ruben Toledo
Holy Toledo!

Okay, so I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with Isabel & Ruben Toledo.
As an avid art lover, I soak up every vibrant, whimsical morsel of color from Ruben’s Illustrations!
Isabel’s chic, shy, high fashion & cool demeanor cannot be duplicated, it shows the exuberant, educated designing powerhouse she is!
Both beam with sophistication, enjoy a lovely & clever marriage so much that I am convinced they have created their own water colored orbit!
The recently released illustrated book titled; ‘Ruben Toledo’s Fashion Almanac’ {Nordstrom} is a visual wonderland!
If I can’t have this book for Christmas, I want for naught!
Happy Holidays!
Now that winter has set in, we need to think skin! How we treat our skin, er, well....shows on our faces & other places!
If you are not treating your skin with care, it will begin to lose its luster, breakouts will pop up, and fine wrinkles, no doubt, start to set in! So, we can take a small bit of advice from 'Silence of the Lambs' and put the lotion on it's skin, but that's creepy....however true, it's still creepy! :)
Hydrating plumps the skin, and is a MUST!
CdB shares a few ideas that will get you started on the right path to healthy, younger looking skin! See below!
Let's start with morning!
Cleanse with something light and refreshing, it's a good way to get rid of dead skin cells from the previous night....yes, we produce them constantly, during the night when our bodies are resting & rejuvenating, they are super busy! I suggest a nice tissue/rinse off cleanser, just make sure that it is for your skin type! Also, let's be realistic, if you drool or tears run down your face while you sleep, you really want to wash that off! Now, I have heard so many of you ask, "Why do I have to wash my face in the morning, if I washed it the night before?"....isn't it clean enough? Please re-read the above....Are you serious?!
Night!
Use a product that will remove the makeup, dirt & grime from the day. You would not believe the crap floating around....free radicals catching free rides on our face, sticking to our every being....OK, a wee bit dramatic, but you get the idea, right? Clean it off at night! No matter how much wine you drink, or how tired you are....off, off, off at night!!
Some of you may like an astringent or toner, I use one & love it! A great product to take away any extra residue or oils left over from your cleanser morning or night, or both!
Your call!
For day, I suggest a moisturizer with a sunscreen of at least SPF 15, this is important for EVERYONE!
It can prevent sun damage in fair, and with a darker skin. A fair skin can burn easily without it, but in darker skin not wearing a sunscreen can cause darker patches & uneven skin tone that is nearly impossible to get rid of! AND a darker skin can burn as well! I stress the importance of an SPF 15 or higher for everyone. Oily skin? Get an oil-free. Dryer skin? Get a hydrating cream. Important!!
As for me, I am a skincare fanatic! I love using eye cream, night cream, firming lotions & potions. If you are unsure of what works for you, make an appointment with someone who can help! Google search and find someone that you can trust. I suggest Authentic Beauty in Atlanta, because they offer a very exclusive & fun, tailored to you, "Image Journey"! Youthful skin is easy to attain, all we have to do is make an extra effort by taking care of what we've got!
Enjoy!

Vicariously Blue Are the Remains of the Day
I had the wonderful pleasure of spending an evening with Jessica Blinkhorn at Emerging Art Scene Gallery for the opening of her exhibit 'Vicariously Blue Are the Remains of the Day'.
Her works are a refreshing perspective of her life ethereally surrounded by beautiful hues of blue. Such as the blue chair she inherited from her Grandmother, in which she has never been able to sit in, however, living vicariously through such of the sitter.
Jessica has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a degenerative disease that confines her to a motorized chair. She is truly more mobile than most of us, who tend to take moving for granted & chose to sit through life with very little achieved.
'Vicariously Blue Are The Remains of the Day' is a series of meticulous watercolors with abstract partners, beautifully illustrated with hints of blue. The abstracts are painted with the remaining colors from the previous piece, creating a distinctive contrast to it's partner.
Emerging Art Scene Gallery owner, Denise Jackson has an innate eye for talent, her choices of pieces exhibited in her gallery prove that she chooses wisely. Not based on haste, nor trend, she has represented some of the most intriguing and thought provoking artist in Atlanta.
Emerging Art Scene Gallery is located at 321 Nelson Street SW in Atlanta and in the heart of the Castleberry Hill district.
