Born on August 19th, 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur 'Coco' Chanel's path had many jagged edges before she became who she is or was, yet still is. So many triumphs & tragedies, but we will not discuss all of those seedy details today, it's her birthday.
August 19th: The fragrance Chanel No.19 infuses, marks & commemorates the life span of Coco Chanel & for those who know her legacy beyond surface level, it actually celebrates her birth & death. Named after her birth, it would be the last perfume designed before her death in 1971, it was also her favorite, worn when she died. I have worn Chanel No.19 for years now, my Mother gave me a bottle when I was a teenager. My Mother, a lifetime fan of Chanel No.5 thought the scent to be youthful & well, perfect for a young girl. I loved the clean, crispness, plus, it kept me from using my Mother's Chanel No.5!
I still wear it today. I fell in love with it, along with fashion over the years & every spritz reminds me of Coco & the life she started from using bits of jersey, thread & a needle. Bon Anniversaire Coco!
